Amycus is a yarn named after one of the non-breeding males at El Camino, a small alpaca farm in Cantabria. He was born during one of the most difficult periods in the farm’s history, and unknowingly became a symbol of resilience for the people there. El Camino describes their relationship with their animals as living alongside them rather than simply raising them ā every alpaca lives free of stress in its natural environment, grazing on regeneratively managed land. The alpaca fibre in this yarn comes directly from Amycus himself; The merino is sourced from Fuente de los Romeros, and the nettle/ortiga from Himalayan Fibers, a specialist producer of nettle fibre.
